FAQs

  • What is an Escape Room?

An Escape Room is an experience in which players are placed in a unique setting and faced with a series of puzzles that they must complete within an allotted time period to win. While in the past, this was usually as simple as solving basic puzzles to find codes or keys for locks to literally escape a room, the concept has evolved to include many different types of puzzles, scenarios, and themes.

  • Why choose Redacted?

Redacted Escape Rooms aims to provide an evolved, high-quality experience compared to the average escape room business. We take the skills and technology we honed at our previous employer and create experiences that far surpass the competition, which still rely on rooms full of standard combination locks. But at
REDACTED, we have a No Padlock Promise. Using magnet sensors, RFID chips, electromagnets, solenoids, and more, the puzzles we create will provide feedback and react to play in ways that excite our customers and keep them coming back for more.

  • What is the Cancellation/ Reschedule Policy?

If you need to reschedule/cancel, give us a call.

Rescheduling/Cancelling within 24 hours of your booking time will result in losing the deposit (2 tickets worth of the booking).  We will work with you to reschedule, but you will lose the deposit because we specifically reserved that spot for you and because the likelihood of someone else booking it on such short notice is low.

If you Reschedule more than 24 hours before your booking time, we will work with you to find a new time that works.  There is no rescheduling fee.  Or if you are not sure, we will give you credit toward the full purchase price of your booking that you can use at a later time.

If you Cancel more than 24 hours before your booking time, you will be refunded the full amount minus the deposit (2 tickets worth of the booking) or given a credit for the full amount, whichever you prefer.

  • What is a No Padlock Promise?

Many escape rooms use different types of padlocks. Unfortunately, they don’t always fit the theme and have a tendency to be redundant.

At REDACTED, you won’t find any of those locks. Instead when you solve a puzzle: lights flash, sounds alert you, and something pops open (or whatever is supposed to happen). We use technology to make the experience more immersive and fun without breaking the theme.

Research shows there is a higher level of dopamine released in your brain when you solve a puzzle and your prize is revealed instantly. However, when you solve a puzzle, then walk over to a lock, insert the combination, and open it to reveal your prize, there’s a reduced amount of dopamine released due to the time that passes in between solving a puzzle and revealing your prize.

  • How do we adjust the number of tickets?

When you book a mission, it’s your mission, and you can have as many people as you like. If you need to add or subtract one or two tickets, feel free to show up, and we can adjust your booking when you get here. If you need to make changes to 3 or more tickets, then give us a call or email, and we can take care of it ahead of time.

  • How long does the experience last?

All of our Missions have a 60 or 90-minute time limit. Additionally, we will need 5 - 10 minutes before to do the mission briefing and go over the instructions. We also do a 5 - 10 minute debriefing at the end to answer any questions. Altogether, you can expect the experience to take approximately 75 or 100 minutes.

  • What time should I arrive?

We ask that you arrive 10 minutes before your start time. That allows time to ensure the waivers are completed, payment is taken, and everyone is ready.

  • Will we be put with other people?

All Redacted Missions will be PRIVATE bookings. So you can rest assured you will not be paired with people you do not know. This is included in the price; there are no extra fees for a private bookings.

  • Do I need to accompany my kids?

Yes, every mission must contain at least one paying adult (18 or over). They need to physically be in the room due to the insurance policy.
